Last updated October 17, 2026

Smart Generosity ("we", "us") teaches donors a method for giving to U.S. charities by credit card. This policy explains what we collect when you use smartgenerosity.com, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms, a longer-lasting cookie if you choose "Keep me signed in", and Google Analytics cookies to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; signing in needs the session cookie.

How we use it

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run Smart Generosity, and only what they need:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and payment records for as long as you're a member, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting rules require. Unfinished applications and review materials are kept until you ask us to delete them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

How we protect it

The site runs over encrypted connections. Sign-in links work once and expire, and we store only a scrambled version of them. Profile photos, headshots and videos are kept privately on our server and shown only to you and to us unless you agree to publish them.

Children

Smart Generosity is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell members by email.
