Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use smartgenerosity.com or buy a Smart Generosity membership. By applying, buying a membership or using the members area, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What Smart Generosity is

Smart Generosity is an educational membership. We teach a method for giving to U.S. 501(c)(3) charities by credit card through third-party giving platforms. We are not a charity, a bank, a payment processor or a giving platform, and we don't hold or move your donations. We are not tax, legal or financial advisers. Talk to your own tax professional about your situation.

2. Who can join

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. The method is for donations to U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) charities.

3. Your membership and payment

• Membership is a one-time payment, shown before you pay and processed by Stripe. There are no subscriptions and no ongoing fees.
• Your membership gives you personal access to the members area, including its videos, steps and checklists, for as long as we offer it.
• Your sign-in links are personal. Keep access to your email secure and don't share your links or the course materials.

4. The money-back guarantee

Our top membership level comes with this guarantee: If you follow the steps and your first donation has a fee taken out, or doesn't reach your charity, we'll refund your membership in full. Just ask within 30 days of purchase. Other membership levels aren't refundable once you've opened the members area, but if something went wrong, tell us and we'll do our best to put it right.

5. Third parties and results

Your donations are made with giving platforms, card issuers and charities that we don't control, under their own terms. They may change their fees, rules or rewards at any time. We describe what has worked for us and our members since 2014, but we can't promise how a platform will process a gift, how your card issuer will treat it, or what rewards you'll earn. Always check your card's terms.

6. Using your card responsibly

Give only what you were already planning to give, and pay your card balance in full. You're responsible for your card account, your donations and your own taxes, including whether and how much you can deduct.

7. Our content

The videos, guides and other materials in the members area belong to Smart Generosity. They're for your personal use. Please don't copy, resell or publish them.

8. Reviews

If you leave a review, the review terms also apply.

9. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access if someone does.

10. Disclaimers and limits

The site and membership are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything a third-party platform, card issuer or charity does, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for your membership.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell members by email about significant changes.
